John Russell
John Russell is the Executive Chairman of Ultromics, supporting the company's commercial scaling efforts and strategic direction as it advances AI-enabled diagnosis in cardiovascular care.
John is a well-respected leader in the medical device and diagnostic sectors, bringing more than 30 years of experience across cardiovascular technology, sales, marketing, business development, and research and development.
John succeeded Dr Helen Routh as Executive Chairman in March 2023, following her key role in Ultromics' growth from inception to Series B. Helen continues to serve as a Non-Executive Director on the Board.
Prior to joining Ultromics, John served as CEO and Board Member of Cardiva Medical, where he expanded the company's vascular closure portfolio and developed the first multi-vessel closure system for cardiac ablation procedures. He also served as CEO of Corventis, which pioneered the industry's first wearable wireless cardiac monitoring patch. Earlier in his career, John played a key role in the development and commercial introduction of heart failure therapies and monitoring systems at Guidant and Boston Scientific.
At Ultromics, John works closely with the team to support the company's mission of improving patient lives through early and more precise diagnosis of heart failure.
